Donna Stafford - $15,000+

My boyfriend, Leonard Davis, went to the emergency room for a headache on December 8, 2009. A CAT scan was performed and they found 3 aneurysms. He asked for pain medication, which was administered at 1:30 A.M. and 3:30 A.M., and he did not wake up for 6 days. Later that afternoon, on December 8, they drilled a hole in his head and inserted a drainage tube because he was hemorrhaging around the brain and in the center of the brain. As a result, he was placed on life support. They attempted to coil 2 of the aneurysms without success because he was very agitated. The following day, December 9, they performed a craniotomy procedure on 2 of the aneurysms. During the surgery he suffered a stroke and was completely paralyzed on his left side. The doctor said he had to remove the third aneurysm 6 months after the first surgery. He also said that he should have never survived the surgery and that he had beaten all odds. However his medical insurance capped off at $16,000.00 a year. Unfortunately the bills are starting to come in and they cost over $15,000.00. On March 1, we met with the surgeon and he scheduled a surgery for the 3rd aneurysm on April 13. He needs this surgery but the insurance has a cap and we are in fear that his insurance will deny payment for the surgery. Currently he's in a day program, INCEP, for brain injury patients. Although he can walk and talk now, he still needs this surgery to be productive in the community and begin to work again. I pray that our situation will be the one that you select. Thank you!
