Hi my name is Vicki I am a single mother of 3, I lost my job 1 1/2 years ago after a year of searching for a job and not finding one in my field I decided to go back to school for cosmotology after 6 months in school I had a horrible accident, I was getting out of a jaquizzi went down the 2 steps and when my feet hit the cement they came from underneath me and my back landed 1st on the wooden steps, I was rushed to the hospital and after a few test they came to me and told me I had fractured L1-L5 and I had 2 buldging disks, So needless to say I could not finish school due to standing on my feet for 7 hours a day and in class 1 hour. Well it's been almost a year now and I have been in and out of the hospital's for the last year with my injuries getting worse, well my last visit at Desert Springs Hospital 2 weeks ago they told me that I needed surgery A.S.A.P. my injuries have now gotten a lot worse my L4 and my L5 disk are completely gone My surgery is going to cost eighty thousand dollars my hospital bills, ambulance bills, doctor bills, radiologist bills, ect.. are through the roof I'm just guessing above with my debt amount but I'm sure it is a lot more. After all these years working hard supporting myself and kids, then loosing my job and deciding to go back to school to better myself, Has all crumbled at my feet just by getting out of a jaquizzi and falling. My mother has helped me out with bills and stuff but she is retired and can not help anymore. I have done all I can, I have had no insurance through all this so bill collectors are calling me non stop day in and day out, I honestly do not know what to do now. I saw fox 5 view this story a few weeks ago and I realize that there are many families that are in need like I am or even worse. I'm sure you have had many responses to this and I'm pretty sure by now your pretty tired of reading or deciding on what family you will choose. I hope you choose the ones who are in need the most.
